Wingtips Lounge JFK

There are very few non-airline-operated lounges and Wingtips Lounge at JFK is one of them. From Wingtips’ website, it appears that they only have lounges in two locations – JFK and St. Louis Lambert International Airport which are few compared to other non-airline lounges such as the Centurion lounge with over 15 locations in the US alone.

What is Wingtips lounge?

Wingtips is a private lounge that provides a respite for weary travelers at JFK and at St. Louis Lambert Airport. The company started in 1998 and has been growing steadily ever since. The lounge is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm.

The JFK location is in Terminal 4, near Gate B22. If you’re not familiar with JFK’s terminal layout, that means it’s a bit of a hike from the other terminals. In fact, it’s about as far away from the other terminals as you can get and still be at JFK.

Below are some excerpts from people who have reviewed this lounge.

Nikolaj who booked space at Wingtips Lounge in April 2022 gave a 2/5 rating and had this feedback;

“The interior is simple but looks new. The selection of food/snacks is terribly. Some weird salads and a dry bagel as lunch. The booze selection is decent, good amount of different beers and a couple of wines + strong booze. Shame im not 21. If your not hungry and just want to get drunk or escape the chaos, wingtips lounge is a good place. Otherwise don’t go”

Rschagrin from Florida gave it a 2/5 rating back in 2021 and had this to say

“No an exciting lounge. Offering limited food, wine, and spirits. Just better than sitting in a boarding area.”

Someone else was kind to give a positive assessment;

“This lounge is great for a very long lay over, the food is simple and the drinks are adequate. The seats are comfortable enough and the staff does a great job of keeping things clean and together despite it being very busy.”

Read more Tripadvisors reviews here.

  1. Simple design
  2. Friendly staff – despite the lounge being very busy
  3. Clean
  4. Good drinks/variety
  5. Straightforward process to book

  1. Complaints about food quality
  2. The shower cost is not included in the daily rate
  3. Not enough power outlets

Overall, the Wingtips lounge at JFK seems like a decent place to spend some time if you have a layover or are waiting for your flight. It’s nothing too fancy but it’s clean and the staff are friendly. The drinks selection is good and there are plenty of power outlets if you need to charge your devices. The main downside is the cost of the showers which is not included in the daily rate. If you’re looking for a place to relax and escape the chaos of the airport, then Wingtips lounge is worth considering.
