Orlando Airport Sleeping Pods 2023

Most people know that getting a good night’s sleep is essential for feeling alert and focused during the day. What many people don’t know, however, is that there are places where they can get a quick nap without having to leave the airport. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about the sleep pods available at Orlando International Airport.

What is a sleep cabin or sleep pod?

A sleeping cabin or sleep pod is a small, enclosed space where a person can take a nap. The cabin is usually outfitted with a comfortable mattress, pillows, and blankets. Some cabins also have noise-canceling headphones and eye masks to help the napper relax and fall asleep.

IN 2006, Napcabs became the first company to offer sleep cabins in airports. The company installed six sleep cabins at Munich Airport in Germany. Today, Napcabs has cabins at airports in Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Chicago O’Hare, and San Francisco.

Gosleep, another company that provides sleep pods, has locations in Abu Dhabi, Copenhagen, Helsinki, and Singapore.

What amenities are there is a sleeping pod?

While the amenities vary depending on the company, most sleeping pods come with a comfortable mattress, pillows, and blankets. Some cabins also have noise-cancelling headphones and eye masks to help the napper relax and fall asleep. Many of the newer pods also have outlets so you can charge your electronic devices while you sleep.

How about shower?

Most sleep pods we’ve reviewed may provide sleep pods but they do charge separately for shower facilities unlike a hotel where it is usually included in the room rate. So it really depends on airport’s facilities and location of the sleep pods.

What are the benefits of using a sleep pod?

There are many benefits to using a sleep pod, including:

-You can get a quick nap without having to leave the airport

-You don’t have to worry about checked baggage

-You can avoid the crowds and noise of the airport

-You can relax and recharge before your flight

What are the drawbacks of using a sleep pod?

While there are many benefits to using a sleep pod, there are also some drawbacks, including:

-The cost. While the cost of a sleep pod is usually less than the cost of a hotel room, it can still be pricey.

-The time limit. Most sleep pods have a time limit of 2-3 hours, so you may not be able to get a full night’s sleep.

-The location. Sleep pods are usually located in the airport terminal, so you may have to walk a bit to get to your gate.

Does Orlando Airport have sleep pods?

Unfortunately, a check and a follow-up confirmation in late October 2022 revealed that there are no sleep pod facilities at Orlando Airport. I searched to try to find any info on planned installation of sleep cabins but it seems that there are no plans to install them soon. At least going by the fact that the Airport’s management hasn’t mentioned it anywhere. In addition, Gosleep, RestWorks, or Minute Suites has not listed Orlando as one of the airports they support.

Where can I sleep at Orlando Airport if sleep pods aren’t available?

For a comfortable and stress-free experience before your flight, check out the designated rest zone at Orlando Airport between Terminals A and B. If you’re not satisfied with the rest zones, consider booking Hyatt Regency Orlando Airport on Level 4 of the main terminal. Finally, if you don’t mind using a free shuttle to leave the airport, Ramada Suites Orlando Airport is another option for you. As you can expect the cost of an in-airport Hyatt Regency Hotel is $360 while Ramada Suites will cost you about $200 a night.

How much does Sleep pods cost?

Typically, you can expect to pay up to $120 for a 3-hour nap in a sleep pod. Some companies, like Minute Suites, also offer hourly rates starting at $35. While Orlando doesn’t have these options, you only locations to sleep are either free rest areas or the paid hotel rooms. Considering the hotel rooms are way more expensive, the next best option is taking a nap in one of the two free rest areas.

If you’re looking for an Orlando Airport sleep pod, you’ll be disappointed to learn that the airport doesn’t currently offer any sleeping cabins. However, there are several hotels near the airport that offer shuttle service to and from the terminals. While these hotels are more expensive than a sleep pod, they offer a more comfortable and relaxing experience.
