Air travel has been stressful since 2020 when COVID brought air traffic to a standstill. Still, airplanes seem to be canceling flights and that means more hours for you at the airport.
If you have some hours at Munich Airport and wondering if you can get some quiet sleeping pod to rent for a few hours, you’re in luck! Munich Airport has sleep cabins that offer privacy and a noise-free sleep environment that you to try for as low as EUR 30.
Munich Airport was ahead of most airports when it comes to designing a compact space for their transit passengers to get some short rest as they wait for the next flight. From as early as 2010, Munich International Airport had installed units of NapCity cubicles in one location.
As of this writing in July 2022, Sleeping pods at Munich Airport are in four locations within Terminal 2.

Table of Contents
A sleeping pod is a small, private space where a person can take a break from the hustle and bustle of an airport. You can use it to take naps if you have a long layover or just want to get some rest before your next flight.
The pods are usually equipped with a bed, a pillow, a blanket, and some have white noise machines to help you sleep.
Some sleeping pods even have TV screens and reading lights.
Design of sleeping Napcabs/pods at Munich Airport
Regular sleeping pods such as those designed by GoSleep or Minute Suites are more like capsule hotels found in Japan. They are long and tubular, with just enough room for a person to lie down.
The sleeping pods at Munich Airport were designed by a German company called NapCabs, and they look more like small rooms than capsules.
Each pod is about 2.70 meters high, 1.65 meters wide, and 2.53 meters long and weighs about 1400 kgs. Below is a snapshot of the technical specifications and the image of the Napcabs sleep pods at Munich Airport.
The pods are made of aluminum and glass, with a door that can be locked from the inside.
There is a small window in each pod so you can see outside, and the pods are also equipped with air conditioning and ventilation.
