What is an airport lounge?

An airport lounge is a type of hospitality facility operated at major airports. Airport lounges typically offer better facilities than those found in the main terminal, including more comfortable seating, quieter areas to work, complimentary refreshments, and often better bathroom facilities.

Some airport lounges also offer showers, massage chairs, business centers with meeting rooms and conference facilities, and even day beds. In addition, most airport lounges offer complimentary WiFi so you can stay connected while on your layover or waiting for your flight.

While some airport lounges can be accessed by anyone willing to pay the entrance fee, many others are only accessible to first-class and business-class passengers, elite frequent flyers, and holders of certain credit cards.
