Delta Airlines offers free wifi to all passengers on board 313 fleets of airplanes as per 2021 records on Delta’s website. In order to connect, you will need to enter your name and email address. Once connected, you can browse the internet, check your email, or watch movies and TV shows. This guide will show you how to connect to Delta Airlines wifi and what to do once you’re online.

What is Wifi?

Wifi is a wireless internet connection. This means that you can connect to the internet without using any cables or wires. Wifi is becoming increasingly common and can be found in many public places such as coffee shops, libraries, and airports.

Not all airlines provide wifi on their flights, but Delta Airlines does offer wifi to all passengers. Delta joined other North American airlines including Air Canada to offer wifi as a service on their flights.

Does Delta Offer Inflight Wifi?

Delta provides its passengers with Wi-Fi, powered by Intelsat (formerly known as Gogo) and Viasat. 40% of their planes have this feature available, which includes more than 250 routes. The service’s speed should be enough to stream videos using a laptop, tablet or smartphone from the time boarding starts till after the plane has landed at its destination.

Delta Air Lines partnered with Gogo in 2008 to introduce the first inflight wifi service. In response to the increased demand for high-speed internet over the past few years, Delta is now offering a higher quality stream of available high-speed internet on their 3 types of aircraft fleets totaling 313 planes – all thanks to Viasat.

Delta Airlines now offer free messaging services on board their flights in cooperation with two service providers, Gogo and Viasat. Passengers can purchase internet packages from Delta in order to browse the web or stream media while flying. For frequent flyers of Delta airlines, there is a monthly subscription available that works with both providers.

How much is Wi-Fi on Delta?

Intelsat offers one-hour Wi-Fi passes for $7 on Delta flights. Viasat, on the other hand, charges a flat rate of $5 per flight per device regardless of destination or length of stay.

If you frequently fly with Delta and would prefer not to pay forWi-Fi separately each time, they offer two monthly internet plans: domestic and global. The rates are as follows:

  • Monthly domestic plan: $49.95
  • Monthly global plan:$69.95

Domestic travelers can purchase a monthly plan for access to all Wi-Fi enabled flights within the USA (as well as Canada and Mexico), while international customers have a similar global option. Subscribers may cancel at any time, and both Intelsat and Viasat providers are available.

Does Delta have free Wi-Fi?

Although Delta offers free Wi-Fi and entertainment for passengers, there are limits to what you can do. For example, messaging platforms Facebook Messenger, iMessage and WhatsApp are only included for the duration of the flight on all Wi-Fi-enabled routes. T-Mobile and Sprint customers who have active accounts are eligible to use Delta’s in-flight connection for free.

If you have Magenta Max with T-Mobile or the Sprint Max plan with Sprint, then you’ll get unlimited full-flight Wi-Fi, streaming, and texting on all Delta flights. Magenta and Sprint One customers receive four sessions of full-flight internet per year as well as complimentary texting—after that it’s just one hour of complimentary Wi-Fi included per flight.

How to Connect to Delta Airlines Inflight wifi?

  1. Ensure you device is on airplane mode
  2. Open your device’s wifi settings and look for “gogo” networks or “DeltaWifi.com”
  3. Select the appropriate network:
  4. For Delta domestic flights, select “gogoinflight”-For all other flights, select “visit delta.com”
  5. Once you’re redirected to the delta landing page, enter your name and email address to begin
  6. You should now be connected to the internet!

Troubleshooting Delta Wifi

If you’re having trouble connecting to the wifi, there are a few things you can try:

  • Ensure that your device is within range of the wifi signal. You may need to be close to a window or the front/back of the plane.
  • Restart your device.
  • Turn airplane mode off and back on again.
  • Reset your device’s network settings

Delta Wifi Free Messaging:

As of January 1st, 2018, Delta now offers free messaging on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and iMessage. You don’t need to purchase a wifi package to take advantage of this – simply connect to the “DeltaWifi” network and open one of the compatible messaging apps.

To enjoy free messaging, all you need is a smartphone, tablet, or laptop with a data connection. Once you’re connected to the “DeltaWifi” network, launch one of the compatible messaging apps and start chatting!

The Delta Wifi Day Pass is a 24 hour period of unlimited Internet use on all Gogo® equipped Delta flights within the contiguous United States and Alaska. If you’re flying domestically on a Delta Wi-Fi-equipped aircraft for more than three hours in one day, this pass offers great value.

All Day Pass sales are final and will not be refunded. Before you purchase this pass, please note that it grants you with a limited license to access the Gogo® domestic on-board network for one continuous 24 hour period.

1-hour pass:

One hour of unlimited access on any Gogo-equipped domestic flight with a participating airline. For a single hour, it will cost you $7.

Delta Wifi Day pass

All-day pass:

For 24 hours straight, you’ll have access to Gogo on any domestic* flight with a participating airline and goes for $19.

Delta Airlines has installed seatback HD screens on all of their long-haul flights and some domestic flights as well. Passengers can enjoy 300+ movies, and content from premium partners including HBO, Showtime, HULU, Spotify curated playlists and podcasts in the inflight entertainment system of Delta Airlines. Delta Airlines inflight entertainment also includes 12 live channels through satellites. For kids, there is a separate section named ‘Sky Kids’ with kid-friendly films and TV shows in the Delta Airlines inflight entertainment system.
